Yeah. That's a pretty uninspiring track.
Compared to the glory of
Or the energy of:
Both of which have better rock sensibility. WL/WH could almost be a Mott the Hoople track in comparison.

The loud, unaccompanied, dry, affectionless vocals that open the album "WHITE LIGHT." may be one of my favorite moments in music.

WL/WH could almost be a Mott the Hoople track in comparison. Obviously you've not heard the 4 pre-Bowie Atlantic/Island albums. Essentially Ralph's running his Les Paul Jr's P90s through a Marshall, heavy metal Dylan, same sound he would take to Bad Co, but ditched when Bowie came on board. I digress. But carry on, Call My Name should have been the opening track and set the tone for the album.

Strange that it kicks off with the title track, feels like it should be something special being both the opener and the title track, but it's probably the weakest song on the album, a slightly badly recorded fairly standard rock song. How can one person be so wrong so many times in just one sentence! Well done fishy, that must be a record! 🤣 I wouldn't change a damn thing about the whole album; one of the greatest rock and roll records ever made.
