When Seinfeld was on its original run, I was on in an adult men's rec league that played at night. Our best player was this guy, Bill, who was 6' 7" and could score from pretty much anywhere on the half court.
They switched the league playing night and he told us he had to quit. We asked why and he said it interfered with Seinfeld.
I didn't like it, but I understood completely.
Show still makes me laugh out loud.
If my new girlfriend, who claims to have never seen an episode, doesn't like it, the relationship is off. There are some things that are just irreconciable.
Beatles and Seinfeld are non-negotiable.

Well I, for one, have always enjoyed the show. They still show it late at night on the weekend here and I usually stay up to watch it, even if I've seen every single eisode more than once let's just say. Same with the Big Bang Theory. Seen every episode multiple times but still watch it every chance I get.
Those kinds of shows either nail you or leave you uninterested. Up to you and what feeds your amusement.

I like it too. I'll admit that it took me a while to warm up to it. I mean, sit-coms generally have people you like and I think the great thing about Seinfeld is that they are all different kinds of selfish and fucked up but they've found their tribe and the funny stuff (to my taste) is very well worked out. you know what I mean? if you don't think the jokes pay off then I understand. they stand up to repeat viewings for me because the jokes DO pay off and all the supporting players really put their backs into it. people I knew loved the show straight out of the gate but I watched with arms crossed. there are two episodes that really won me over to the show. the one where they can't find their car in a parking structure and the one where they are waiting for a table in a Chinese restaurant. Pure, character driven comedy. I understand if these are characters that you don't want to spend any time with. I guess, like a lot of people, I see more of myself in some of these petty and unguarded behaviors than I'd like to admit.
the main thing is that the best episodes have a set up & a payoff and are a lot of fun getting there. I have to be in the mood but when I am, I LOVE Seinfeld.

I'm a member of some Reddit and Facebook groups and I told the woman I'm seeing that some guy posted that his new girlfriend has never seen Seinfeld and he wants to show her an episode in hopes of conversion.
First, I asked the woman I'm seeing if she's seeing another guy and asked why? I told her the story, but then started thinking which episode I'd show her. The anto-dentite and kavorka episode were up for consideration.
It came down to the Limo where Jerry and George take a limo from the airport, but don't realize it's taking a neo-nazi leader to Madison Square Garden and have to pick up some other neo-nazis on the way. Kramer and Elaine get in the limo, thinking they've been invited to a Knicks/Bulls game and comedy ensues.

Strangely, one of the things that I really enjoy now is the total absence of cellphones in those days. Phones were either at home or on the wall in a restaurant. Answering machines had appeared by then and sometimes played a part in whatever svheme was being orchestrated. Reminiscence.

One of the other funny things about Seinfeld, and completely opposite the other classic sitcom involving a comic, the Dick Van Dyke show, is the way Seinfeld's act is made fun of and he's even heckled by Kramer's girlfriend. A less secure comic wouldn't have allowed this.

One of the funnier episodes is when Jerry gets a new answering and transfer call machine and a college newspaper reporter overhears George and Jerry joking about being gay and they realize she can hear the call too.

I actually did something similar with our answering machine one time.

I laughed, well, I say laughed, I couldn’t fucking breath, and I turned blue…it was the funniest thing I’d ever seen, and it’s difficult to know why, because out of context it’s merely ‘amusing’
When Seinfeld was good it was sublime

It probably is this one.

Before I talked to Graeme/Django yesterday, I sent him her pic. He thought the same as you presume - I'm fighting above my weight class.
