The Office was a work of genius. So brilliantly observed because I don't think anything has come close to the minutiae of working life in the UK. Everything else by him is meh in all honesty.
Coogan is a superb actor and I love the Trip. The first two Partridges are brilliant but it's been downhill (albeit slowly) since.

Just browsing the cocked and bombed thread on Partridge.
It's funny how they analyse it so much.

Just browsing the cocked and bombed thread on Partridge. It's funny how they analyse it so much. They're obsessive. Chris Morris can do no wrong, Coogan can almost do no wrong, and Gervais is a blight on the face of British comedy. Dissenting views not tolerated.

It's a bit odd to me to analyse comedy to that degree.

I like it when things are analysed to within an inch of their lives! but these cunts are nasty if you challenge them on ANYTHING

Here's some interesting viewing. Uncomfortable for so many reasons.
The Gary Shandling interview is well worth viewing, too. Odd.

I love Partridge. The character has always been a TV-friendly version of Roger Mellie from Viz but it's still funny and works.
As for Gervais, I haven't followed his career too closely since Extras. From the little I saw of Derek I thought it wasn't a bad idea but terribly acted. I thought that After Life was a depressing waste, an assembly of some of the best comic talent around and he barely gave a good line between them. I hope he still has Stephen Merchant's number.

Loved the doll bit in tonight's Partridge. Laughed more at that than at anything else in the series so far.

I'm still laughing at the IRA medley at the end.

I thought that was the best episode yet. The IRA songs and, in particular, the sex doll cpr. Fantastic.
