I've really been enjoying Babylon Berlin. The current (3rd) season has clearly received increased funding as the production qualities are excellent. You get Weimer Berlin and all that transgression, the odd expressionist touch, the political undercurrents, all wrapped in interesting detective storylines. Furthermore you get to see some great actors who you'd probably have never have been aware of otherwise.

Rewatching Cheers, it's funnny how the PC brigade haven't picked up on Sam's antics and treatment of women yet.

My son and I started watching a good Netflix show called Lillyhammer. It's Steve Van Zandt in a reprisal of his Sopranos' role, maybe a little more over the top. He informed on a fellow mafioso and they moved him to Norway for witness protection, at his request.

Watched some more Python outtakes - this time from the first season Blu-ray.
I'm renewing my wedding vows with all of them, but it's mostly about Cleese and Palin - maybe the head and the heart of the group. Godlike.

So looking around on my free month of Amazon Prime, I saw 'Upload' which I didn't bother looking into as it looked awful. But then I noticed it had a high score so I looked at the trailer.
Watched Series 1 - really enjoyed it, light but full of nice observances. I'd recommend if you have Prime

Watching the episode of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet where they get robbed and Neville tries flirting with a German lass by talking about his marriage and O-levels.
My mate played an extra in series 3 who called Barry a rich cunt.

Binge watched all four episodes of Murder in the Outback. Very interesting and gripping. Left me quite unsure about what really happened.

I've been watching cable channels with old shows. The other night I watched the Rockford Files and on another channel I watched the Dick Van Dyke Show, the Honeymooners, and The Abbott and Costello Show. I have to say, Abbott and Costello has been the funniest, but then I love them. From 1953.

I think Joe Besser on A&C is one of the god damndest characters I've ever seen on TV. He played "Stinky" the brat who was clearly a full grown man in a Little Lord Fauntleroy suit. As a kid I found this both funny & horrifying.
Jerry Seinfeld & Larry David used to always say the A&C TV show was a big influence on them - you can see it! that was a funny show.

somebody at the house has been wanting to watch "Space Force" I'm not really a sit-com guy as a rule. I mean, I like 'em but it's hard not to be judgey since there are some really good ones. I'm not sure that "Space Force" IS a really good one but by episode 4 it was easy to get me to sit down for another.
no great shakes but the cast is real good. Steve Carrel & John Malkovich are the "salt & vinegar" relationship of the show and their comic timing & chemistry together is notable. the dialogue is pretty sharp. mainly, the show is "old fashioned" in a way I find pleasing. each episode has an arc that is self contained and a "b-story". there is already a certain amount of "character growth" but it's not off putting because the characters are so screwed up that there's a lot of room for improvement.
I like it quite a bit.

My son watched the first few episodes. It didn't do anything for me.
Carell was basically playing his Maxwell Smart character. Been there, done that.
