Terrible shame. The pressure of maintaining your looks when old age is knocking on your door. Awful

The first series of Fargo. I'm about halfway through. Great performances. Not exactly gripping but very watchable. It's great but the second is even better. I really enjoyed season one, but I'm finding 2 a real chore. Too many characters, a storyline that's not going anywhere very interesting, clunky social commentary..I'm fucking it off I think.

I like seeing photos of people's faces. I especially like seeing close-ups, especially of famous people. That's all I got, G!

It's interesting to see how people age, too. How they fight it - if they bother.

That Friday Night Dinner look-back last night on C4 last night was really well done, I thought. A bit upsetting to see Paul Ritter in the state he was in, but touching too.

Time - Jimmy McGovern's 3 part prison drama with Sean Bean and Stephen Graham. Unrelentingly bleak.

I wonder if we'll ever see a TV drama WITHOUT Stephen Graham. Fucking hell!

Finished this last night: - absolutely LOVED it. Kind of Fleabag-ish in the way it's focused on a slightly unhinged/fucked up female central character who you end up falling for (Billie Piper is an absolute revelation), beautifully and believably scripted by Lucy Prebble, and perfectly cast. Feminist themes, lots of dark laughs, but the end left me in tears. Best current drama/comedy I've seen so far this year. See it.

it's getting a little lost in the "strong female character" shuffle. I keep hearing about "Pure" but "Suzie" sounds way more up my alley. we're trying to taper off the cable so we've been streaming most of our TV. wife and adult daughter have found the perfect show. they love crime shows and house flipping shows. the streaming solution? Murder House Flip. No, I'm not making this up. In fact, I think every satirical bone in my body wants to go get drunk.

I started watching this a few weeks ago, starring Jean Smart as an older Vegas and sitcom comedian who hires a younger writer to write hipper material. Larraine Newman's daughter plays the writer.

what happened to Jean Smart? she's all over the place. My wife watched her sit-com in the 80's. I never expected her to be GOOD. she's really quite good in things these days.
