I love it but, hell. consider the source! I mean, stuff like that works on me like a time machine. it's like watching "mad men" or something but quicker like liquor.
the song is decent. the vocals are nice. the "time machine" component is top-notch especially when it's obviously the real mccoy and unfamiliar to me.
thanks for playing!

Big fan of this track Snee. I love the emphatic way BB says 'contact'! It's a fun track but with a heavy twist of weirdness. Definitely used it in a cup one year, but can't remember when.
Let's see what Riggers thinks of this track from now forgotten early 90s band Dr Phibes And The House of Wax Equations

Cheers, that's pretty good. Very early 90's. They were a name I saw mentioned a lot and may have even caught a bit of a festival set of theirs. They were always talked about as being this trippy, psychedelic experience if I remember rightly, shared bills with the likes of Levitation, who I quite liked and had high hopes for, but they seemed to fizzle out.
When I saw the running time of this vid, I was sure that there'd be some kinda 'freak out' towards the end, in fact when it stopped at around three and a half minutes, I thought 'Here it comes, the big solo..' but it was just a badly edited upload, which seems to just have the whole thing again without sound.
Still, enjoyed for what it was.
Here's a complete change of pace. A track I was obsessed with a few years back and it's for adamcoan.

So. I was thinking whatever happened to this thread and who is the twat that let it die. Turns out.... Sorry everybody. I thought this was ok when I listened to it via my tablet. A pleasant enough little ditty, nothing more. As is my preference I downloaded it and put it through my speakers. This unveiled more of its charms and opened up the sound. A whole album of this in one sitting would be too much. I do enjoy this kind of thang now and again.
It was an interesting and enjoyable choice, thank you riggers. I will have a little think and post another selection shortly.

Holy shit. I thought, I'll see what's suggested and put some time aside later to have a listen. But you're throwing obscure NDW my way, I can't just let that one lie, had to listen straight away. And it's only vaguely teutonic, the bloke in the middle has to be the genuine German, he looks like he could be in Malaria. Or The Cabinet of Dr Caligari.
Musically, this really reminds me of early Death in June. It's that deadpan vocal, the proper bass, and the pissing about with radio sounds. Yeah, that's right up my dark and dingy gasse, you could imagine getting stabbed somewhere in Berlin at 2am to that.
Can't believe I've never herard it before, I've been out-fished.
I shall pick a track for someone later...

It was the side project of Bad Seeds drummer Thomas Wydler..Two brief, but respectable eps and one single when the band morphed into Shark Vegas
(And I only knew of them because this song was a suggested video on youtube, while I was listening to the 2020 repressing of the Bourbonese Qualk - Hope album..)

I think rather than a side project, it was the band Joy Division's mate Mark Reeder formed when he moved to Berlin. He was the one who got them into electronic music and would make tapes for Barney.

(And I only knew of them because this song was a suggested video on youtube, while I was listening to the 2020 repressing of the Bourbonese Qualk - Hope album..) Bourbonese Qualk! Always been one of my favourite band names. As far as I know, the only original industrial band to come from the pensioner-popular seaside town of Southport, where I work. I had a bunch of CDRs burned from the Mutant Sounds blog downloads, but I've no idea what happened to them now. The only album I've got now is my vinyl copy of "My Government is My Soul", I've never seen anything else by them, anywhere. This was my favourite from that, though the album as a whole is a weird random mish-mash of styles:

Ok. Here's something pretty special that I couldn't really fling in the direction of anyone but Sneelock. Something about Kristin's mental state that I reckon Snee's posts sometimes delve into.
