I find the B3 to be such a soulless (blunt) instrument.

I find the B3 to be such a soulless (blunt) instrument. I think I would have enjoyed that a lot more with a bit of piano underpinning it all. I don't agree with that at all, but that's not the first time i've said that about one of your musical opinions, fonzy.

I've tried with a big box of Jimmy Smith. It's hard work. Whaever musical inventiveness there is, is lost in the end-of-the-pier dullness of the Hammond. I've got some Larry with John McL etc, but again, it's dullsville.
Sorry

No offence to JS, as i like quite a bit of his stuff, but he is one of the worst B3 players for people who aren't really into the instrument to be trying. His early stuff in particular. It can simply be too much.

Organ is the only instrument that I find not suited for jazz. Blame it on JS.

I can't be having with all this anti-Jimmy Smith talk. Get down y'all and get this into you.

I’m listening to the album, but this clip is great.
Gimmick? Sure, but it’s a nice sound.

This track is the epitome of cool for me. That it absolutely COOKS in the middle section, when the vibes and organ start gettin hot, makes it even fucking cooler. I wish i could've walked into a nightclub in the 60s and watched Lytle play with his band.
