Doesn't Sky Pilot have bagpipes? I haven't heard it in 30 years.

I think so! Sounds like it in the instrumental section.

I think so! Sounds like it in the instrumental section. Doesn't sound shrill enough for bagpipes to my lugs. I'd always thought it was Shankar on strings or keyboards.

Doesn't Sky Pilot have bagpipes? I haven't heard it in 30 years. I was hoping this one would show up. I heard Eric Burdon and his poorly paid pick-up band play it in a park for free WITH BAGPIPES!!! it was great!! I love that "twain shall meet" album in spite of my better judgement. His voice was a beautiful hollowed out thing at that point.

Bit of a cheat as it's ostensibly a folk band, not a rock band, but I can't think of a song that bagpipes do as much for as they do for this one (former 'child prodigy' Kathryn Tickell, not a band member):

Not remotely rock, not even a whole song, but definitely bagpipes

I've been meaning to post something by these guys since the thread started, but they have a very unsatisfactory youtube presence.
Guh are a local (Toronto and Guelph) band who've been playing together in one form or another since the 90's, with several members who I've known since highschool, including founder and bagpiper Henry Muth. They've evolved from being a two-drummer w/ bagpipes and guitar metal-ish song-based band to a jazz-focused 'compositional collective' to their current formula which is more of a groove-based "let's get people dancing!" ensemble with almost all of the original members still participating.
I went to see them last night at a local bar and while I only caught a short snippet on video, I think it gives a good idea of what they get up to:
