speaking of beat... I love all these tracks but I am duty bound to express my love for "Pretty Woman" I understand others being sick of it. I'm hoping you can understand why I never will be.
towards the end, the drum bangs steadily away all by itself. then the riff returns. then Roy's voice. I've always liked the record as a whole but that bit is the cherry on the cake. I think it's almost unbearably exciting especially when I haven't heard it for a while.
I'm glad there's a Roy Orbison song that's been played enough for others to get sick of it. I'm glad I don't get sick of it because it's always going to be the most travelled Gateway to all his stuff.

I was just reading all the "i never need to hear it again"s with mounting sadness, but you've restored my faith in the world again. What a song; i could listen to it every day of my life and not tire of it... but of course i don't, so when i do hear it again, on a mix or out in the world, it's like discovering its joy and brilliance all over again. What a magical song.
