The great man turns 79 today. He's great, isn't he? Assuming his greatest performances were in the two Godfather films (I'm not even sure that's the case but I'm not really interested in discussing them), which three films show him at his best? Does he still have one great performance in him?

I haven't seen all of 'em listed, but I went for Panic in Needle Park, Serpico, and Dog Day Afternoon. 70s New York Pacino is the best Pacino.

I went with Dog Day Afternoon, Panic In Needle Park and And Just For All (Pacino is way over the top here but it's an entertaining movie).
Where the heck was Godfather II? That would have been one of my votes.

I went for Dog Day, Serpico and Glengarry. Fairly easy choice for me actually.

Dog Day, Glengary, Brasco.
Not really a movie but I quite liked Angels of New York too.

I picked Dog Day Afternoon, Scarface and Serpico.
Sea of Love and Glengarry Glen Ross missed the cut.
No Godfathers? Or were they too ensemble?
And no Cruisin'

Sea of Love is great, isn't it? I caught a bit of Ocean's Thirteen earlier and there's a bit where he's standing outside the casino with Ellen Barkin - weren't they both in SoL together? anyway she hardly looked any older. He did. A bit.

You're talking about best performance but you've not listed his Shakespeare films. He's always loved Shakespeare
