A is all fine and dandy and one of my fave tempts tracks but B is the type of track I want to hear in the cup. New to me and full of weirdness. What a nice discovery.!

Fuck, I LOVE the Tempts around this time. They had it all - the greatest musicians, the greatest songs, the greatest production. Exhilarating stuff. I can hardly praise it enough.
B is little more than a curio. Fun but really MUSIC FOR WEE BOYS

I think B has probably been picked more than A in previous cups, so I don't regard it as a more original pick (not that that is black mark against it either). A is perfection really - the tension of the arrangement, the fraught vocal, the spacious production. As good as anything we'll get in the whole competition probably. I've always like B: Its woozy, space age psychedelia is a real one off. But it has to be...

Man, this is tough. I love the psychedelia of B, but A is an all-time fave song (altho I prefer other versions to the Temps). Damn.

I'd like to hear B in better quality. It doesn't beat A though.

I like the weird B, though it's a bad dub (or is it supposed to sound like there's a shit-tonne of fluff on the needle? Maybe)

A, I said I was all Motowned out, but not the Temptations.

I guess if we're going to be stuffed to the gills with Motown and 60s/70s soul bobbins, I might as well try and enjoy the better crafted tunes that come along. Yeah, the brass is ace, the amount of space in the arrangement, the way the percussion seems to float over the tight vocals. Lovely.
I don't like that psychedelic mat on the turntable, surely these things should look better when they're spinning, than when they're stationary? I'd like to vote for this, I always try and throw a helping hand out to the less obvious pick. It's just not that interesting a track in the end, just a bit of a jam with some high-pitched twanging. If the drumming had been funkier, or the freaky bits properly freaky, maybe, but nah, it's a bit of a disappointment.

We could continue arguing about oddities vs well-known picks for ages. For me, this match kinda summarizes it. I'm fine with discovering B, and I appreciate that somebody has picked it because it is a pleasant listen. But there's no way I'm going to vote for it against that monster of a Tempts track
