Nice picks! Out of our wheelhouse a little, so all the more refreshing to hear.
I dig
A
a little more

B is Northern soul, I take it. It’s pretty good.

A, a proper grand slice of 50s weirdness with fine delivery and knocks a relatively able but somewhat generic RnB number for six.

Crikey, Jezebel is another from the parents' Sunday afternoon collection. Not done with the same craft as Mr Presley, and it all feels a bit stagey; something from Don Quixote, the Broadway musical? I thought it had some big brass on it, too, is there another version of this?
Well, we got to tie 10 before we reached the horror of youtube video stills of 45s, but it's a rare interesting pick, if just for the vocal effort. It's just got that bit more energy and oddness than A. I don't want to hear much else in this vein, but for now, it takes the tie.

Tough call - both adventurous picks that stray from the canon but aren't wilfully obscure or odd.
I think B is giving me a touch more pleasure right now but I reserve the right to change my mind.

The overheated, feverish intensity of 'Jezebel' makes it pretty distinctive even within the realm of melodramatic 50s pop. I like that about it. The dynamic's track is a really tough sounding record for the time. Great drum sound. I like both choices, but B is a bit more me.

B
Frankie Laine's singing is Louis Prima without the sense of humor.

Crikey, this Cup is delivering in spades. I've no idea how you'd end up selecting Frankie Laine for this but hats off. B is completely unhinged, I love it. What a cracking first round.
