the TVP's track is a work of genius. B is a eurovision song i'd vote on, but it is out of its depth here... big time.

Wasn't super crazy about either, but A.
B had one too many La-las in it.

A somewhat lives up to its title. It's not afraid to be a little bit pop and I like it for that. Dan Treacy was in a bad way the last I heard of him, a quick google seems to suggest he's ok.

The TVPs have always left me cold, but this effort isn't bad. B is just a piece of daft fluff.

Both want so badly to engage me, but use cliches to do so. A is a psychedelic greeting card, B is the house band at a touristy restaurant on the Mediterranean. I think B is more likely to eventually grab me, but would take multiple Bellinis.

A sounds like someone just clinging on to the arse end of the baggy bus. Doesn't have much weight to it, and the singer sounds like he's trapped under a soggy lettuce leaf, just doesn't have the strength to escape. Oh, it's stopping, before anything's happened. Thanks. Is there a shambolic charm to this? I'm not convinced. Tofu.
Ooh, B's the original. I guess that's its most intriguing aspect. What's gone wrong with this round?

A goes for a more commercial post baggy indie sound and produces something decent enough but rather lacking in fibre and individuality. Probably one of the bands that should have split up much earlier than they did, but what else is he gonna do? I've always hated "Paradise..", it's no pop classic for me. This isn't a bad version though, it might be better than the original. No vote here. Sorry.
Edit: Apparently this is the original so there you go.
Edit 2: Doing a bit more research on B, if only the picker had gone one more click on youtube they could have picked this and they would have absolutely walked this tie.

A! The guy is staring off into space and that resonates with me.

I know I liked a couple of TPs early tracks, but this one seems to be from the early '90s, retro psychedelia mill and comes off as mild gruel...Sadly, B is nothing special...Going to give a very minor edge to B...

Dearie me, what on earth is B about? Never liked the Amen Corner version and this - original or not - is just a curio. A is pretty flat as well but squeaks it.

Not the greatest match in the world really, but A is the clear winner here for me.
