two very strong picks. both float by boat. the uk subs selection is brave and i so badly want to vote for it.
B is just too groovy to deny.
B with apologies to A, which will probably get thrashed anyway.

A is ok for what it is, a crunchy bit of Brit punk rock. But B dances around it in every way possible - great tune, great playing.

Time don't matter at all. Well, if only that were true. Even at 2 mins 40 it seems to go on for just a bit too long.
I'm voting for obscure-ish jazz over one of the big punk bands, my 17 year old self would be having an aneurysm.

B actually seems a bit canonista to me, but maybe I just know it well. (I have a reasonably close mutual friend w/ Mr. McCann). Anyway, it's the better song.

I've always liked "Compared to What", but A is new to me and I really like it.

B is a shapeless mess, a riff soon buried under undistinguished honking and shuffling.
But it still beats A, which is undistinguished in every aspect

If the vocals weren't so faux-sneery, this track would be improved quite a bit. Well, I like the high-pitched simplistic guitar riff, anyway. It's not quite as generic a slice a punk as I expected, but then it's not really poring fire over the joint either. Fairly underwhelming though.
B's starting off as decently tasteful as a Brubeck number, so I'm looking forward to some undistinguished honking and shuffling. I guess it's competent and all that, and nice enough. But there's loads of nice enough stuff out there, isn't there? Seems quite unspectacular again. But it is better than A.

A isn't bad so much as totally generic. The sound of uninspired slogging..but you kind of like 'em for trying hard, like watching a small semi-pro team in the third round of the FA cup. B is tremendous - full of flight and packing a punch. Great earthy sax. I've got the album somewhere, must give it a spin.

B is the cool track with the effortless sounding vocal. That gets my vote.

I actually didn't mind A, yes it was generic but it was fine. I'm afraid though I'm falling in with the consensus here - its outgunned by a superior opponent. Nice, as Jazz Club Man would say.
