Beatles for Sale - Sometime in the last couple of years I played a bit of it. I found a vinyl copy in mono and wanted to check the quality.
a various artists compilation - The whole thing? Couldn’t guess. A track or two? Within the last few months.
any classical music - Yesterday. One of the ice cream trucks in my neighborhood plays a snippet of Fer Elise on repeat.
a live album - Not sure. I’m not a big fan of live records.
something from your parents' generation - Something that they might have listened to? Years. Some older blues artist who they would have been completely unaware of but was of their generation? Relatively recently.
a newly released record - Within the last several months I’ve heard the new Pere Ubu, the new Dream Syndicate, the new Flesh Eaters. Old bands but new releases.

Beatles for Sale
Oh, sometime in the last two years. I've also been goofing around this year, recreating Beatles albums via cover versions of the songs; here's the one I did for BfS. It's been a fun but challenging project - and I don't know what's more difficult, the songs with almost no covers, or the songs with hundreds of covers. a various artists compilation
This past week, I listened to both the 1969 Complete Motown Singles box AND the Ace Records comp Another Saturday Night. any classical musicAbout a week ago, some Erik Satie. a live albumHmmm... I think it was Sam Cooke's Live At the Harlem Square Club, back in the spring. I've been to quite a few live shows since then, though, if that counts. something from your parents' generation
Two weeks ago. I threw together a collection of songs my dad likes from when he was young, which I'll often play in the car when I'm taking him out to eat. a newly released recordOh, I've listened to plenty of these recently. At least a few new releases each month.

Beatles for Sale - A couple months ago, maybe? Whenever we go on road trips we bring a couple Beatles CDs. Can't remember when this one was in the rotation, but they all get in there at some point.
a various artists compilation - A week or two ago, I think. Mojo's 'best of' for the year. Surprisingly good!
any classical music - Listening to Britten's Hymn to St. Cecilia right now, as I do every year on St. Cecilia's Feast (also Britten's birthday).
a live album - Wow, I can't remember! Not a huge fan of live albums.
something from your parents' generation - Does the Britten count? My mom was awfully young when it was written, and probably wouldn't have known about it, at least until years later. I've also listened to plenty of jazz fairly recently - on a bit of a Mingus kick of late. One way or another, definitely in the last week however you/I define it.
a newly released record - Yesterday, while going through the Mojo/Ucunt lists.

Beatles for Sale - at least half a century ago. Don't know if I ever listened to the whole thing in one go - some of my friends had it a various artists compilation - all the way through, I have no idea, but I listened to pieces of several this afternoon - parts of the Motown every single ever released collection, an English psych one, and one called LA Gemstones any classical music - it's been a while, probably this century, probably something by Delius or Sibelius a live album - again, a whole album no idea, but I heard a couple of Association tracks Live at Monterey this afternoon something from your parents' generation - I listen to, and know more about, the pop of the 1930s through to the mid-fifties than my parents ever did In the last year or so I listened to several records by Leslie Sarony and otehrs the Bonzos covered, some bebop, some Artie Shaw and some Illoinois Jacquet, but think the last one was probably a song about dope smoking by the Harlem Hamfats a newly released record - the last record I bought was British Sea Power's Sea of Brass in October 2015, and I probably listened to that twice back then. I've listened to things released since then once or twice on-line, but months after they were released

Beatles for SaleNever. a various artists compilationIn the last couple of months. I bought this compilation of Spanish post-punk and synth-pop, which is pretty good: lesdisquesbongojoe.bandcamp.com/album/la-contra-olaany classical musicProbably a couple of weeks ago. I had a phase of listening to radio 3 in the car on the way to work, when I couldn't decide on a choce of CD. a live albumIn the last couple of months. I bought the Factrix/Monte Cazazza album California Babylon, which sounds like it was recorded via telephone onto a wax cylinder, scrubbed with sandpaper, doused in petrol and set on fire. something from your parents' generationDeliberately? Just that in the pub this afternoon, Frank Ifield's "I Remember You" and Bobby Vinton's "Roses are Red" played, and it took me back to childhood post-Sunday roast torpor. But that wasn't deliberate. From their generation, probably Phil Ochs or Albert Ayler, but they didn't listen to them, though I suspect my dad would've liked Phil if he'd given him a chance. a newly released recordVia youtube, today, I listened to both the new Moor Mother album, and Richard Dawson's 2020. If you mean an actual physical vinyl or CD, then it was last week, when Swans latest disappointing effort slow-progged its way across my turntable.

Beatles for Sale - ages ago, probably ten years? certainly before I went primarily vinyl. It never had a US vinyl release, so it gets overlooked. a various artists compilation - all the time, especially in the office. Most recently a Brownswood comp (Giles Peterson's label) any classical music - pretty much daily - goes with the job. The other day it was Brahms Piano Concerto 2 a live album - today, I hope! Just bought the James Brown Live at Home With His Bad Self set something from your parents' generation - all the damn time. a newly released record - Probably that dumb Orville Peck record, though surely there's some stuff I'm forgetting. I've tried a bunch this year but nothing's really stuck.

any classical music - Listening to Britten's Hymn to St. Cecilia right now, as I do every year on St. Cecilia's Feast (also Britten's birthday). I should update my classical answer - I played Handel's St. Cecilia joint yesterday based on hatz's reminder of the date. Thanks, man!

Beatles for Sale - Sometime after the mono remasters were launched - jeezus already ten years ago! Anyway this is probably my least fave Beatles album, bar Let It Be, there are a few stinkers that keep me avoiding to play the album in full - also 5 or 6 top tunes, mind. a various artists compilation couple of weeks ago a CD of rockabilly stuff from a low cost box. any classical music can't recall when was the last time, except for an opera show in Vienna last year (Rossini's Cenerentola since you asked) a live album - an Allman Bros live CD last week (one of the 8-9 I have, and I keep on playing them quite often) something from your parents' generation - My parents were born in the 20s, so even early rock is not exactly their generation, and certainly not their music. Anyway, probably Billie Holiday could fit here - and I listen often to her records. Also I play 40s 50s jazz from time to time, again far from the music my parents liked. a newly released record I might have heard something but I can't recall right now. Two years ago I worked through the lists commented on BCB and the albums that got some praise on the boards and did listen to some. I can't remember anything that made a lasting impression, but probably I never gave anything a proper chance - too much to listen, too little time.
