I was going to put this in the movies/TV section, but thought it deserved more attention. I have started listening to Rick Rubin's Broken Record podcast. He gets great guests because of his connections and has a two-part conversation with Neil Young that's really good and I highly recommend it. I'm listening to the Cat Stevens' episode now and if you like his music at all, it's very enlightening. They're also on YouTube: www.youtube.com/c/BrokenRecordPodcast/videos

I walk at lunch and listened to the Ringo episode. I kinda dislike listening to Beatles' talk because they tend to repeat stories. Not one repeated story and got an insight that an Al Green song, this one played by Al Jackson Jr. and not Howard Grimes, the other Hi drummer, changed the way he played drums after he heard how the hi-hat was being played.

Bizarre Albums with Tony Thaxton You'll enjoy it if you like kitschy weird records of the past sixty years
Slates Hit Parade More academic, but a very good deep dive into the pop charts of the 20th century
Lost Notes Each episode focuses on a different artist and their choices might be obscure enough to get your attention: Cymande, Fanny, John Fahey, Suzanne Ciani
Your Own Personal Beatles Made by two guys who are engaging and very passionate about the Beatles. I really enjoyed their episode on the recent Get Back

I've mentioned this before, but Paul Myers, brother of comedian, Mike Myers has a good one called Record Store Day. He's written books on Todd Rundgren and Canadian comedy skit group, Kids in the Hall. The Rundgren book is considered pretty definitive. I just listened to one of his latest with Andy Partridge. He's a pretty good musician too. I've seen him with his partner in a group Paul and John. A good friend of mine used to work for his wife at Chronicle Publishing and did music book publishing before that. He's a nice guy and I won't go into the story how my buddy pranked him by hidign his Rickenbacker guitar at a club gig in San Francisco once. Here's a sample of their music. thepaulandjohn.bandcamp.com/Hatz's best friend knows his musical partner, John Moreman.
