The guitarist and composer from Suede finally gets to collaborate with someone talented. As a fully paid-up Spector geek, I love it. Do you?

I expect this is the kinda track that would get G doing cartwheels across the floor. I'm ambivalent about it, it's a big dramatic thing, but it doesn't push my buttons.

Yes from me!!!!!
The strings are wonderfully arranged and the production is perfect allowing the other instruments to breathe all the while showcasing a beautiful voice that expresses the lyrics in a way that only the best singers do. Like another 90s classic Kiss from A Rose it can only be covered by proper talent so know twee versions soundtracking the John Lewis Xmas advert.
It is also the kind of song that if you stripped it all back it would still sound quite glorious; the chord changes and the melody are more than enough.
Good choice.

Not quite hit, definitely not shit, but 'meh' doesn't really do it either.
Two 'un-alikes' trying to make magic, and the talents and differences both stand out.
'Interesting experiment' maybe?
