Do you say it a lot? Was/is it part of your upbringing/local vernacular?
We use it all the time thanks to the brit's "staycation" in Ireland and mainly the scots settling in Ulster. It's part of ulster scots which is used a lot in Ulster. We use other scottish words and pronounce words as the scottish do, like Can't is canny.
Anyway, do you use the 'Aye'?

Yes, it's not just a Scottish thing.
Only the north of the north of England use it, tho'. Haven't heard it in Manchester for example, or Sheffield
