I could have sworn when had a Peter Sellers thread talking about this book.
If we do then I can't find it. Did you know they made a movie of this? Geoffrey Rush as Peter Sellars. Charlize Theron (one would assume as Britt Ekland). anybody see it? I'll bet it's a stone cold bummer. the book certainly was.
I guess I enjoyed the book enough that I watched this movie last night called "The Ghost of Peter Sellers" made by Peter Medak. I like Medak and not just for "The Ruling Class"
Anyway "the Ghost of Peter Sellers" is about making the film "Ghost in the Noon Day Sun". It would seem the making of this movie and working with Sellers in particular has left a gaping emotional wound in the man. at least a couple of subjects in the film point out to Peter (Medak) that this isn't doing him any good. he seems to agree but thinks making the film will help him work through it. I wish I could say it's a better film. it would have made a perfectly good "south bank show" or something. Peter M. seems to have worked through his feelings - good for him. He includes lots of footage off Sellers - good for me.
there's some neat Spike Milligan stuff too. they asked him to do a rewrite - one of his contributions was having 5 or 6 people dressed up to look like Spike Milligan.
