Played Wally, The Beaver's older brother on Leave it to Beaver. Had been sick and was in his late 70s, but damn...that feels pretty young these days to be checking out.
Reruns were a HUGE part of my childhood. I thought it was a great show, and not just in a kitsch way.
One of my two friends that were kid actors said he was a nice guy, too.

Just had a look at his Wiki page - aside from some clinical depression issues (which he seems to have largely overcome), it looks like he had a pretty nice life. So many former child actors have a rough time of it.

And now they're saying he's in hospice in his last hours, but still alive.
Didn't the same thing happen with Tom Petty?

I'm aware of the show, of course - I was reading Mad magazine in the late 50s, early 60s, after all - but to the best of my knowledge it has neve been shown on UK television
