Fantastic people, don't know how they do it. From bathing and getting folk in and out of bed to having the patience to bath and getting uncooperative folk in and out of bed. A rewarding job I'm sure but you can't blame them for thinking the odd time, "fuck, this guy".

Indeed. Extremely difficult job that requires a patient and caring personality.
I'm very glad that I didn't really have to do much caring for my dad. Just before he passed away I had to bathe him once and the silence between us during it was a message that he was extremely uncomfortable with it. I can imagine that resentment can build a lot if someone has to be cared for on a daily basis- particularly if it is the invasion of personal space by someone who is not a partner etc.

Aye I had to help me da after he fell off the toilet. Clean him and the floor up. That and changing catheter bags is like you said, uncomfortable silence. He's old old school, so the idea of his son or a female nurse doing this type of stuff was just horror to him.
