# 1 If you don't like the vocals then nothing will sway you towards its charm. Harvard students build slow anthems that all begin the same way but end in a satisfying manner. Loved and loathed in equal measure I fancy. Too dull, landfill ? Or a little diamond in the rough.

I might give it a listen later, if I get a quiet enough day. They're a band I never really took much notice of, probably due to the vocals, but otherwise it does sound like the kind of thing I could get behind. I'd be quite surprised if Dayodead wasn't a fan.

They remind me a bit of Yo La Tengo - that type of band. VU-influenced, three piece (?), college-y, East Coast, soporific, no tunes
I too might give them a listen later. But I can't imagine they're going to make me want to blow up a bridge.

Love most of Dean's output, whether it be Galaxie, Luna, Dean & Britta or solo...Also, love Damon & Naomi (The other Galaxies)..Galaxie put up a different version of a wall of sound. Mark Kramer's (Founder of Shimmy-Disc) atmospheric production style gave their gentle, shimmering melodies a nice space rock echo..All three LPs are classics..

I liked them. I saw them sometime in the late 80's and they were no GG Alin live. The 3 albums are pretty good, but lower than low key -- almost static and ambient.
Yo La Tengo could be pretty energetic live

^That video is coming up as "Video Unavailable" for me :-(
I did just listen to the full On Fire album in one go, and yeah, it was nice enough. It's all about the languid Velvety guitar, and trying to ignore the more nasally aspects of the vocals. I'm not sure I'll necessarily search it out, but I could buy it some day on a whim.
I do need to get some Yo La Tengo though, been listening to them quite a bit recently.
