One if the first three singles I ever bought, along with He's a Rebel and Love Me Do.
I'm only putting it up here really because I stumbled across this colour promo video of the band miming away diligently, although for some reason they could not film Clem Cattini to mime the drums, so he just stands there looking embarassed. I played this record hundreds of times, but I think this is the first time I ever actually heard a bassline in it, mainly because of the visual cues of Heinz playing it.

Thatcher's favourite pop record, which puts me off a bit. Still, you've got to like its 'Festival of Britain'* fresh optimism in a future that never came to be....new sounds, news worlds.
* before anyone chimes in, yes I know FoB was a good ten years before this record, but they both share that post-war optimistic futurism.
