Sometime in the very early 1990s I was going through a depressive phase, and one night I thought I need a CD of doo wop ballads. So I went to Tower Records and bought one. It did what I needed it to do. Even though I already had it on the American Graffiti soundtrack, I probably wouldn't have bought that collection if it didn't include this, which just might be my favorite record ever: Love it so much.

Doo wop was one of my first loves, which when i think about it is a bit strange for a kid born in 1970. But i guess i was just at the right age for the 50s revival period in the 70s, and that hit me hard.
An old fave...

I just bought the 12-disc East Side Story CD set, so maybe I'll have some suggestions later. It's maybe the genre with the highest "great" ratio. That’s a fantastic set! We should do a thread going song by song!

B-side of their greatest hit, and as far as I know the only song they recorded that was written by a member of the group (bassman Leroy Fann).
