Maybe a flunkie is waiting for his man with $26.00 in his hand. I'm far from convinced that Keith is.

I've heard worse versions. It might actually be the best thing on this unexciting upcoming RSD release... Keith Richards - I’m Waiting for the Man Maxim Ludwig , Angel Olsen - I Can’t Stand It Rufus Wainwright - Perfect Day Joan Jett and the Blackhearts - I'm So Free Bobby Rush - Sally Can’t Dance Rickie Lee Jones - Walk on the Wild Side The Afghan Whigs - I Love You, Suzanne Mary Gauthier - Coney Island Baby Lucinda Williams - Legendary Hearts Automatic - New Sensations Rosanne Cash - Magician Brogan Bentley - The Power of the Heart loureed.bandcamp.com/album/the-power-of-the-heart-a-tribute-to-lou-reed

I'll actually be curious to hear the Joan Jett and Bobby Rush tracks. Once, anyway.

It's almost offensive that someone who's had such a privileged life as Keith has so little interest in what he's doing. It's abject, artless, pointless toss.

Did he just sing 'beat-up shoes'? Nobody in his camp could tell him the correct lyrics?
From the 'if you have nothing nice to say' department, he's still a master rhythm guitarist, and he keeps it simple, as he should.
Other than that? "Oh, a perfect pairing! My work is done here..."
I guess I could see (hear?) the Whigs doing a good version of "Suzanne." And Bobby Rush is pretty great whatever he does.
That's about all I'm capable of excitement-wise.

Beat Up Shoes - reminds me of the Slaughter and the Dogs cover - "Don't You Lexington 125"

Finally got to listen to/watch the clip. To my surprise, I really like it. I'm also a little surprised that he's playing it in standard tuning - the song would have lent itself to his usual open G tuning well, I'd'a thought.
Nearly sixty years after the song was written, I wonder how much smack $26 would actually buy now.
