Anyone sent their lists to Yves?
I can't resist putting a list together - this is what I managed, but it's really only a rough order (as these things invariably are) - best first:
Safe As Milk - Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band The Clash - The Clash The Doors - The Doors Roxy Music - Roxy Music The Modern Dance - Pere Ubu
The Velvet Underground and Nico - The Velvet Underground and Nico The Stooges - The Stooges Suede - Suede New York Dolls - New York Dolls I Should Coco - Supergrass
Here Come The Warm Jets - Eno Are You Experienced - The Jimi Hendrix Experience Surfer Rosa - Pixies Murmur - REM The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn - Pink Floyd
Talking Heads: 77 - Talking Heads Please Please Me - The Beatles Fuzzy Logic - Super Furry Animals Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols - Sex Pistols Can't Buy A Thrill - Steely Dan

Those two could well have made it, yeah. As well as the Smiths, Buzzcocks, Suicide, Modern Lovers, Oasis, The Fall, Little Richard, Led Zep...

No! I like them enough, but they're not huge favourites. The first album and Rocket to Russia have some of my favourite songs by the band, but I can't be arsed with them over a whole album.

Don't know that i could. I mean, a krautrock top twenty would be relatively easy i suppose. That would be a good gauge of my taste. That would mean ignoring other acts due to being genre specific. If I tried to mish mash them together, mmm. It cannot be done in all honesty. I don't like lists, they serve no purpose. The previous year by year lists on here were swamped by the omissions list and then there is the "yeah, nearly put that one on me list" comments. I play a lot of music a lot of the time. Things hit the spot, then don't. I can agree on what is a great album but simply find it impossible to be definitive. Yes, it's impossible to be definitive lad.

Question: Where do you stand on solo albums from band members? Is Plastic Ono Band a debut? Also, what about artists' subsequent bands? For example, is Sound on Sound by Bill Nelson's Red Noise considered a debut? it's more of a one-off, and he was many years into his career by then, but it is the first/only album by Red Noise.
