I hope folk don't get too excited if/when Messi lands in the EPL. The guy is 33 or 32 years old, he's not gonna be the same of old. Past debates of if Messi could have played in england, without his past teams mates and the physicality etc are a bit moot. If he does come, i can't see him playing 38 games in the league, or playing much in the cup. I'd say he'd be saved for the champions league. Regardless, i'm excited to see him in the EPL. I just hope a kick him off the pitch tactic isn't used by most teams.

I'd be surprised at this stage if City and Liverpool weren't in the top two given the gap they've built up. Chelsea are being ambitious in attack but they're asking a lot of a 35 year old Thiago Silva to sort their defence out. The others haven't done enough.
Meanwhile, we're looking to re-sign a 35 year old version of one of our worst ever strikers. Oh fucking joy.

I'm ambivalent about the Hammers' chances this season. We've not bought anyone soucek counts as a signing for this window. i'm not a fan of moyes, but i have to give him credit for getting soucek and bowen in. both have been great. the West Ham fans seem to be annoyed that diangana is on his way, but not me. use the cash to buy a left back and we'll be fine. i'm a bit worried about the goalkeepers, but i'm hoping that haller and fornals will have good second seasons.

I'm a Sunderland sympathiser.
I'm no fan of your boss either, and the West Ham sqaud strikes me as pretty unbalanced, but you've too much quality to struggle badly unless something goes drastically wrong.

1. Liverpool 2. Chelsea 3. Man City 4. Man Utd 5. Spurs 6. Wolves 7. Arsenal There's absolutely no way Spurs will finish above Arsenal this season. They are in for a really tough season and Jose will probably be gone within the next year.

Liverpool will win. Best team, settled squad and some good youngsters coming through (Jones, Williams, Brewster). Minamino should be settled down and is improving and if keita can have an injury free season he can make a big difference from midfield and it would be like having a new player.

I'm in the "Spurs will do better than people think" camp.
He's still got Kane, Son, Lucas Moura, Alderwerield and Lloris. 4 World-Class players at least. Dele Alli can be if he wants. Lo Celso is pretty decent in midfield too.
Not saying they'll make the Top 4 but if one of those has a bad run, I reckon Spurs could take advantage of it.

Kane is resembling a car which has seen too many miles on the clock. Moura and Son are still class, but the midfield and defence are a bit of a shambles.

I don't think the arse owner cares as long as the money rolls in. I don't think xhaka will keep his discipline as he has been doing, luis is just a fucking joke, and he doesn't have the players he wants to play the way he wants. Jose has experience, it's outdated, but it's experience. I think both teams will be playing more defensive as they have been doing. Jose wins that point. Listen i hate Arteta, he was a dirty cunt on the pitch, but i hate jose more. I hope i'm wrong, i just don't see it.

We could always declare the extra expenses on purchases of hay, like we did in the 1950s...
It's financially unfair on the likes of us and Portsmouth without doubt, but on the other hand it could force the owners to reinvest in the academy and recruitment teams which have been woefully neglected. But that's banking on them developing a long term strategy when their only aim was getting us promoted at the first time of asking and selling us on for a profit so I'm not holding my breath.
