very popular oz band who were on the scene in london during the mid-80s. fused cramps and stooges with garage punk but appealed to a cross-over audience from goths to psychobillies. so many other great oz bands from that time: the church, the stems, the stains, the hoodoo gurus, the tyrnaround, celibate rifles, beasts of bourbon. the only band that truly disappointed were the lime spiders whose 'slave girl' proved to be a freak one-off.

Cosmic Psychos
Not sure how to post clips, but these guys were my favorites in the mid to late 80’s, Maybe too heavy for some, but right in my wheelhouse.
Feedtime
In a similar vein- as if the characters from Wake In Fright formed a band.

They've done everything - garage, hard rock, psychedelic, even power pop. I bought this in '86 on the strength of the cover alone and have never looked back.

Skope's writing from the perspective of not being in Aus in the 80s I'm guessing because "other mid-80s oz bands" "the only band that truly disappointed were the lime spiders" - trust me, there were plenty. I liked one that even Aussies cringe at these days, a group called Wa Wa Nee - replete with mullets, poseurs and synths. You probably meant "other mid-80s cool Aus bands" ...
Tough. Here's Wa Wa Nee

*Edit: crap video which doesn't seem to go with song; other versions of song on youtube not from 80s

Here's Wa Wa Nee I always hated Midnight Oil and I remember when they were trying to pimp Cold Chisel here in the US. Blech. I suspect Skope is president of the UK chapter of the Men at Work fan club.

The Cosmic Psychos are still at it. They released this gem last year.

I don't think they released anything else as outstanding as this but what a blaster it is!

I'd've loved Fuckwit City thirty years ago. But would you want to live next door to them? It's a thought I just can't shift.
*Edit: I bet you're wishing right about now that there were a 'downthumbs' button.
