The new Juliana Hatfield album just came in. Every once in awhile, I'll dive in again and am always glad I did. Here's the new single from her new album, Weird. Very Neil Young guitar solo. And I won't litter this with hip-hop because I don't think a lot of other people appreciate it. If this place were more hip-hop friendly, I'd post Travis Scott.

The Bangles have put out a new single, Talking in My Sleep, as part of a project they're doing with the old Paisley Underground. The comp includes Rain Parade, The Three O' Clock and Dream Syndicate.

I've been listening to far more new music lately, in comparison to five or six years ago - a combination, I suppose, of having everything at my fingertips via Spotify, and doing a bi-weekly radio show where I'm required to play seven new releases in a two hour show.
One that I've really been digging is Julia Holter's new double album, Aviary. It's experimental chamber pop, featuring all sorts of unexpected sounds; here's the "hit":

I had a ticket to see her last year but couldn't be arsed going after this.

New Deerhunter is out. They make sneaky records that creep up on you and this is no different.

Anyone have thoughts on the new album by Low, Double Negative? It's a huge change for them - it sounds very little anything they've done before. The tracks are all heavily processed soundscapes, with voices buried under effects in the mix. It's a challenging record, one that is sure to alienate many, but it's one that you'll find yourself lost inside if you stick with it.

Big fan of Low.
I know one or two other Low fans who hated Double Negative, but I found that by giving it a bit of time it really got under my skin. We saw them at Manchester Cathedral last autumn and the new songs sounded fantastic live as well.
