It can't be done...what rot!
The failure of the housing market to provide affordable housing on a large scale is all to do with the way provision has been turned over to the private developers so the rich can make vast money from it rather than it being seen as a basic requirement of any civilised society. Look at the percentage of Tory MPs (most of them) that have declared interests in property companies and you will have your answer as to why the situation has got to this point.

•Conduct an audit of the impact of Britain’s colonial legacy to understand our contribution to the dynamics of violence and insecurity across regions previously under British colonial rule.
So the Huff post was right.

I think the most awful one is Labour nationalising broadband. The Orwellian connotations of that should be obvious to everyone.

Yeah, let's hand that over to the fucking state.
Can't see any problems there.

Too right! I'll go to the fucking wall defending private companies rights to profit off the information they harvest from individuals.

One can have concerns about that but also recognise giving the state control would be potentially far worse for obvious reasons.
I mean, its not like Marxists have ever, ever demonstrated a tendency to, you know, censor shit and, er, control the media.
Jesus fucking Christ on moose stick. Are you high on Cali bud, Harv?

Of course giving the state control over the internet is a bad idea - just look at what's going on in Iran right now. I'm just saying that laissez-faire capitalism isn't the greatest model either - and, most importantly, just fucking around on the internet. I don't get high at work, and I'm more partial to homegrown, thanks.

There are always problems but it’s better than what Labour are proposing which is a populist con and a dangerous one at that.
Enjoy the homegrown

Labour voters...what do you think about the manifesto then? What do you think about their economic plans?

I just saw the 1:30 clip the Labour Party released of Corbyn summarizing his plans in the back of a cab and he doesn't say anything about "nationalizing" broadband, just that his government would provide free broadband. I haven't read the manifesto (and likely won't), but is his plan to actually nationalize internet access, or just provide a free option?

Yeah, let's hand that over to the fucking state. Can't see any problems there. Because private industry has made such a good job of energy utilities and the railway.
One would have thought that 30 years of incompetence and consumer exploitation from the private industries would have destroyed the old binary thinking of 'privatisation = good and effcient/state industry = bad, inefficient" but apparently not.

There hasn't been a major accident on the railways for over 15 years.
The main reason they were privatised was because of a spate of accidents and issues in the late 80s.
I'm not saying that the privatisation has been a success, but I think saying it has been a disaster is incorrect too.
The railways in this country need a huge turnaround and I'm not convinced nationalisation is the answer.

was it really that good before, G? You can flip that round too.....privatisation = bad, state industry = good. Labour is clearly on that side which is "old binary thinking" then, no?
