I'm a member of a few, a Power Pop and Beatles group, to name two.
Half the stuff people post in the Power Pop group isn't power pop and the Beatles group seems to regurgitate the same few songs over and over again. And the questions people pose. . . Yesterday, would the Beatles have been as good with Pete Best instead of Ringo. Real provocative. Gimme a fuckin' break.

I'm a member of so many groups and pages now that most of my "news feed" is taken up with music-related stuff. I like it that way.

I'm not a member of any music groups except a Residents one but I never bother looking. I guess this place is enough

Half of the fun is giving him crap and having him respond, "I read these, you know." I've taken to beating to the punch on that line too. It's fun. He's a good guy. I like him.

The best groups are the generic ones - not group- or artist-specific.
This lot: Abnormal Music, Far-Out Sounds, I love Psychedelic Rock and Garage Punk of the 60S !!, Avant Garage, Vintage Punk & Wild Rock 'n' Roll, Garage Rock and Psychedelic Rock Fan Group - throw up regular treats.
I was a member of a Bryan Ferry group not too long ago. I realised most members were middle-aged women who liked to talk about how 'dishy' BF is, and not much else. I left after a week.

I'm on a few 'Vinyl' groups, which can be hit & miss. I'm also on an SST records page. I've probably learnt more about myself and human nature in the three years of being on those groups than a lifetime of face to face human interaction. The most striking think i've learnt is that American males over 45 are very serious...& fairly angry.. about everything. I once made a obviously jokey comment (to me anyway) about how the British police will come and rescue your cat from a tree...& then invite themselves in for tea and biscuits. Boy... America did not like that.

He may be ok as a 'real' person but he was a tool to me on BCB so i have no interest.

I'm only in "Imdb Music General", "Rate Your Music", and "Uneasy Listening". The first two get practically no traffic, and the latter is a weekly Pittsburgh-based radio show by someone who used to be an admin on RYM. A bit too punk based, but she does some decent playlists.

A Killing Joke one, and a Devin Townsend one, plus a Warrior Soul one. And a Rollins one. I get some posts from a load of Jazz type things, but they’re mainly marketing, I think. I’m FB pals with Alex Skolnick and Sim Cain.

I’m slowly getting rid of all of my groups. They all suck.
Everyone tosses out all of the interesting info on whatever the subject in the first few weeks. After that, you just regurgitate the same stuff.

Future generations will look upon Cat Hugging photos as a historical record of when we started to get things right. you heard it here first. oh, I don't know. 'Now Playing' comes through almost every day. the only one I actually look forward to is JSJ's supercalifragilisticexpealdocious Beatles Page. Most are like the movie pages - "what do we think of THIS? " or "why do people keep posting things I don't agree with here?? there will be hell to pay" I get enough of that shit at home.
