I may actually have to drop out of the cup, until it’s delayed until late this week. I bungled my list and accidentally posted it to all. I would come up with another list, but for the next five or six days, I’m taking care of an elderly family friend whose wife just passed away. He has dementia and cancer, and no relatives left, and I’m the executor of the estate, so I’m on full-time caregiver duty until I can get his finances sorted and get him placed in a home (they didn’t have any sort of plan for this). I’m going to be asking some friends of his to relieve me for a bit tomorrow, so I can get to a coffee shop with internet access to catch up on work; if I can get caught up on that, I’ll try to throw together a list tomorrow. There's no problem at all, Mike. It doesn't matter that others have seen your list - they have no control over when their selections come up against yours, and even if they did, I don't see anyone trying to take advantage of it. And they would have had to memorize it as I've deleted the mail. I am only missing six lists, so I can go ahead midweek and use your list as it stands - it's a pretty good one, as, astonishingly, are all nine of the ones I've seen already - and will leave voting open for ten days or so. Sorry to hear about your situation. Hope it all comes together soon. But in the meantime, don't worry about this - it will still be trundling on when you can get back to the cup.

Mike I only saw your opening salvo of Celine Dion and Freddie and the Dreamers, if the rest of it is as good then the rest of us are in trouble!
Seriously, I wouldn't worry about it. I bet no one's seen it and even if they have, as Ray says, so what?

Yeah, I wouldn't either. It's not like I printed the page up so I can vote against it each time it comes up against me. Just go with it.

What they said, nolamike ... it's no big deal and - as noted before - I averted my eyes and deleted the post as soon as I'd seen Celine Dion, Freddie and the Dreamers... and Liberace

Alright, my list is in. I'm definitely not "in it to win it". Also, Heifer can fuck off.

Alright, my list is in. I'm definitely not "in it to win it". Yeah, all the work involved was finding a fucking good track from that daft list that Heifer put forward. Or something with fucking FLUTES or violins that wasn't terrible. What I ended up submitting was pretty poor all-round, truth be told.

Sent - As Larry Bird said before an NBA all-star game three-point shooting contest, "Who's coming in second?"

I think the themes are actually a bit of a brilliant idea, it's forcing all of us out of our comfort zones (I still can't think of a flute track!) and if you think finding one track off my theme was hard, I have to find 7! I just wanted people to pick songs out of my area of expertise for fucking once! As for my list, hopefully later today, still finding a flute song!

Mine is outstanding of course and has plenty of FLUTES, even my away picks!

You strike me as a "flute" kinda guy.

How are we doing for lists Ray? Still waiting for heifer in the first group, and Oleander Median (who is having trouble accessing the site), Goat Boy and, inevitably, Hatz from the second group. I'll be sending them emails today. Ideally, I'd like to start no later than Thursday, and since I'm going to have to check for duplicates and request replacements, and there's actually a fair amount of time involved in doing the draw and setting up and posting16 ties per round, I'd like them by midnight tomorrow GMT, please

Still waiting on one list, but the eight ties in the Odds group in round one are now up. Please vote early and vote often, and while it is not obligatory, please try to comment, and avoid drive-by voting.
