Dammit..Can we place A in a different round, please ? It would have gotten my vote in almost all the other Weather rounds, but not this one. Can't vote against one of my top 20 fav VU tracks...Vote B

RLYL sounded like talentless 3rd rate goth at the time, unsurprisingly it's aged about as well as mouldy old bread. Sisters of Mercy without the tunes is not a good idea. Foggy Notion will always be wonderful and I will never tire of hearing those choppy guitars.

A is the ugliest sound to ever come out of Leeds which is quite the accolade in itself. Yeah, B.

With the caveat that A does suit the theme a lot more directly, I agree with what everybody else as said, which urges me in the direction of B.

Oh crap. Ok, I couldn't think of any songs about the weather that weren't by Coil, and I new they'd get trashed because you all hate anything I love, especially if it wasn't released on wax cylinder. I kinda rushed the choice. I considered asking if I could change it and pick Aitch & AJ Tracy's "Rain", which wasn't released when the cup started. Also wouldn't win, but it'd add some much needed variety to the cup. But anyway, I thought this was a very literal fit for the theme. Yeah, it's 2nd division Leeds goth, though I don't think it's that bad, largely because I like the squeally guitar bits.
I don't even know this VU track. It feels like a very straight-ahead 60s rock song when Lou's singing, and only comes alive with the guitar interplay, which is a thing of loveliness. Definitely not a weather-themed song though.

On the face of it, A's rubbish. But there's something about it. It's reminiscent of something, what is it? Is it Fields of the Nephilim? Other things too which I don't have the time to add. I've played it a few times and I like it more for it. To the point of it beating B.

A was ok, even if the vocals are truly rubbish, but its just not something i'll ever seek out. B is fab, VU style rock and roll.

a I've heard plenty from the Lorries, but it had never occurred to me that they were Goff, because they didn't flour their faces, have smeary lipstick or wear silly hats, at least as far as I could tell. And loads of fine bands from Leeds, but also much crapper and uglier ones than this - Gang of fucking Four for a start.
I bought Foggy Notion on a dodgy illegal EP in the Seventies, and didn't often play it. Poorly produced, and I always thought it was lesser VU, although of course that doesn't mean it's rubbish. The vocals are crappy, though, and the song slight, and the production is just unfinished.
Sod it, they both have flaws, I'm voting A
