Again, I like George Clinton. But take the vocals off that first track and it's any nondescript crap rent-a-backing from the eighties. D-standard Prince backing. I don't know who did it first and I don't care. Don't hate it but is just isn't good.
B sounds like it was put together in the studio by a producer bringing in session people. But I like it.

Yeah, A has that ugly 80s thumping and squeaking all over it. I still kind of like it, but really
B
has more charm

Yeah, agree very much with thang. Love Clinton generally, but that's such a nondescript track, plus there's way too much of it. It has some moments, but it makes its point and then keeps going. And going. And going. Great title, though.
B is pretty slight, and could probably lose a few minutes itself, but at least it has a bit more variation, and, as has been said, charm.

I like the cold robotic sound of A but I remember at the time it felt a let down compared to some of his other releases of the time (such as the great Atomic Dog). The problem is it has little in the way of hooks, either instrumental or vocal, and so becomes tedious very quickly. I really enjoyed B which was completely new to me. It's the kind of quirky, slightly bubblegum track that turns up on a Tarantino soundtrack. It's a hybrid of all sorts of things from early 70s boogie to proto disco and I found its good natured, energetic groove to be a delight. Great stuff.

Unsurprisingly, I don't even like Clinton in his prime, so I don't have high hopes for this. It has that 80s cold and deadening production thing that killed Prince's songs for me, but there's plenty going on musically. At least it's not another jazz/blues instro (as the cool kids refer to these things). It's not too bad, considering. No hooks as mentioned, but plenty to actually listen to. I get the feeling that the entire series of Star Wars doesn't go on as long as this though.
B has some really good drums, but those vocals are just so much not my thing. And it also goes on for as long as all the Marvel films.

What a weirdly sympatico pairing - A is basically just B, but done 20-odd years later for an 80s audience.
I love me some Clinton, but this one is kinda mediocre really. B sorta is too, to be honest, but the pairing of Williams and Oliver Sain makes for a more appealing sound to these ears.

Both tracks felt like hard work to get through. Maybe B a little less so. Without much enthusiasm

There is quality beneath the cheesy 80s sheen of A. I was beginning to enjoy it towards the end.
B is very loveable.

They were both entertaining, but B had more heart and humour. Same guy as responsible for bacon fat in round 7

The 80s production makes A a bit hard going for my ears, but I like both.
I'll say B considering it a 2:37 single.
