B did make me laugh. Very briefly. It's obviously singer putting on a parrot tone. And most of it is thick syrup singing. I was hoping for something to give the Teddy Bear's Picnic a run for the money. While not entirely to my taste, it's still

A is very sweet, but is played a bit too straight to have the humor I like from the topic.
Pancho is the real deal - a star of the San Diego Wild Animal Park in the 80s, although I wasn't aware of him at the time. Now I'm going down the rabbit hole of his appearances on TV, including the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. So thanks, B!

A is no Rosemary Clooney so I'll add to the wave of "Pancho-Mania" B

Me too (watching him on youtube) *I'd still vote for A as generally I don't like most of B, and I recon they must have taped the parrot for hours at the very least.

This category is a bit of a chore for me. A has a nice production so I'll go for that, but it's not a song I ever need to hear because I'm not six.

This category is a bit of a chore for me. I'm with you. The odd fun song, but mostly it's been hard work. Neither of these appeal in the slightest. So once again, and I'm sorry ABSTAIN

Well. There might be something about the production of A, but this is such a muffled sounding thing that I can't quite tell if the original would sound fuller, or if this is how it was meant to sound. Decent Elvis impersonator.
B sounds like a latterday Residents number. I mean, fair play to whoever tracked this thing down, it's a genuine novelty. But why the fuck would you track this down? It would've been better if it was just the parrot, really.

I guess I'm unsure of what makes a song qualify as a "novelty" tune. A just seems like an ill-advised choice of song to cover, whereas B is an actual novel concept - a singing parrot! (plus, Pancho's singing voice cracks me the fuck up whenever I hear it.)

B wasn’t parroty enough! We’ll have barking cats next. Still, at least it had some actual novelty value. A subdued squawk for

First time I heard this version of A - I can dig it!
I like the idea of B, but come on, that's the cheesiest backing possible and the parrot doesn't even seem to have fun!
