A does itself no favours at all by starting off with a brassy (bold, not literally) breathy nose+flute sound when you should build to it. But clears ... this is proper playing, proper interaction. Then it fucking disappears for hours. OK, minutes.
If anyone would have told me that I'd vote against Moondance, I'd've told them to get real.
But this is a flute category and bloody hell A is the business.

B is disqualified unless A utterly sucks - which it doesn't.
I mean, there's even better, less obvious Van Morrison songs on the same album! D-minus. Must try harder.

I hate Moondance - the album and the song - with a rare passion.
A is at least tolerable. I'd probably prefer it without the flute - it's a bit 'Take Five' underneath the huffing and puffing

Neither floating my barge. Vote A for the funny hands. The other night I dreamt I met Iggy Pop and he had hands just like that! What can it mean, I wonder. A

That's a horrible sound on the flute to A, has he checked it for cracks? And is someone singing doo-doos to accompany it, too? It sounds weird and horrible, and makes me very uncomfortable indeed. Very Take Five ish, and would be much better without the bloody flute. I keep expecting that bass to break into Golden Brown, too.
I didn't know I knew Moondance, but it turns out that's what this is. I've generally studiously avoided Van Morrison, though I'm almost ready to try Astral Weeks if lockdown gets worse. It's hardly an interesting song, it's not an adventurous pick.
Abstain again, sorry.

Yes, as fishy says A is very Take Five-ish, but can't really fault it for that. Blows up a lovely storm. B is a gem i still love, but A is more adventurous.

Surely B is hurt by overplaying, but its presence here was unexpected for yours truly. And it is definitely the better song.

A has the misfortune to be jazz, with a way too busy rhythm for my liking – and I can't stand Take Five, which does not help – although the flute is nifty
I remember Moondance as the most enjoyable of Van's albums that I've heard, and I have fond memories of the title track, but haven't heard it for decades. It's dated rather.

Never mind the vitriol spewed all over it, I still love B as much as I did when I first heard it. A suffers from an ugly flute sound, as noted
