I think Croz's wife is friends with Neil's ex, hence the anger at Daryl Hannah.
And I think Croz was angry at Neil more than the name-calling suggests. Neil's always been far and away the most self-serving of the lot. And that's saying something in that lot.

I don't know when in her illness, Neil split to be with Hannah, but I think she just died last year. My mom and dad's favorite restaurants were the Mountain House, still around - just ate there last year - and used to be Neil's local bar when he lived on his ranch in La Honda, and where he met Pegi, who was waitressing at the Bella Vista, also near his ranch. Since closed. Back to Nash. I always thought he was the peacemaker in the group, and a little vain as to his place in pop's pantheon, as people have stated. Don't get me wrong, a lot of some of the best 60s and early 70s pop music couldn't have happened without him, and he wrote some great songs and is a great harmony singer, but he might want to write one about "hubris" too.

The Kinks/Nash story (as recalled by R. Davies in his first book): early on in The Kinks' kareer, when they only had a couple of flop singles to their kredit (ok, I'll stop), they did a tour with The Dave Clark Five (headliners) and The Hollies. They introduced "You Really Got Me" on this tour, and it got such a strong audience reaction that an insecure Clark demanded that they drop it from their set. Graham Nash jumped in and cajoled/shamed Clark into letting them keep it in. (Furthermore, I'm assuming - though I don't know for sure - it was The Hollies rather than the DC5 who had to directly follow The Kinks.) Ray never forgot it, obviously.
I tell that story by way of pointing out, for the sake of balance, that Nash has always tended to be uncommonly generous and supportive of fellow musicians, particularly those in a less privileged position than he - lending his starpower by producing or singing backup on some Nobody's record, or putting them together with a producer or label or promoter, or just bigging them up in interviews, or playing gracious host to out-of-towners (The Turtles have a good story about that - see My Dinner With Jimi), and so on.
For all his self-importance, it seems to me he's generally been a mensch.
