Listened to it this morning on my run/walk. Good Easter album.
As I posted in Facebook, it sounds like Philip Baily of EW&F made an album with an up-and-coming producer. Very '70s sounding album to my mind.
I really enjoyed it.
Here's the whole thing, I guess, if you want to hear it.

That first track sounds a lot like Shuggie Otis to me.
Not bad - I'll check the rest out later.

I don't know..Even with the 70s vibe, this sounds like something new and we need to be leery of anything new 'round here !..

It's ace. This one pricked up my ears on the first couple of listens.

Yeah, it has a nice nostalgic sound, channeling the feel of EWF, Bootsy, Gap Band and others in the late-70s and early-80s funk/soul field. On first listen though, there isn't really a stand out tune or single... a lot of good but not much great. A grower maybe.

There's nothing that grabbed me, but it was good, and sometimes surprising throughout, if not revelatory.

I got into Thundercat a few years ago, I remember posting his debut on BCB. I've not really kept up with his more recent stuff. The first video reminded me not so much of EWF et al as 90s Brit soul acts that had been inspired by that like Omar or Jamiroquai. In short it sounded like something that came out on Talkin Loud in 1992. Haven't given the album link a listen yet, that might be more interesting
