Keeping myself sane feels like enough of an achievement currently.

The levels of irritation I can feel by some wanker endlessly studying a bag of sugar while standing in the middle of an aisle of the supermarket are unheard of. Oh yeah. Yes.

I haven't watched more films. I'd quite like it if I did, but I never know where to find good ones these days. If anything there are too many options. Paid streaming services like MUBI and the Criterion Channel (you need a VPN), then there's Netflix, Amazon Prime, all the Sky or Virgin TV stuff, and even youtube has classic films, many uploaded in HD. On top of that there's the DVD or Blu-ray collection I presume you have, and then torrent sites for the obscure stuff... The only paid streaming site I have is Netflix and I struggle to find good movies on there I haven't seen already. I mean you can spend a fortune on this stuff, continually paying for downloads and extra channels. I can't really be arsed with it really.

Yeah, Netflix is shit for good movies really.
It's worth just googling the title of the film you want to see - there are enough free streaming sites.

The BFI player is ok at £5 a month.
Criterion/Curzon looks like it's the best.

you really should get the free two weeks of Criterion if you haven't already. I subscribe a month at a time here and there. I just love it.
fortunately I've been working through the lockdown. I say "fortunately" because me and the fam would be seriously fucked if I wasn't. unfortunately, I'm more scared than I'd like to admit both by the virus and the psychological choices of my fellow humanoids as I am out and about.
I'd love to catch up on my reading, movie watching and noodling around. I might even enjoy a certain amount of self improvement. when I was layed up after a recent surgery I got some good habits I'd been ignoring re-established only to see them vanish once I'm back to the grind. get up/go to work/go home/ deal with stuff/go to bed.
I'm a tiny bit jealous that I'm not binge watching and eating but I had my chance when I was laid up & I guess I blew it.

A friend of mine texted me recently that Netflix has good music documentaries. He referenced one on Arizona stoner rock, like Kyuss, for example.

There's a good one on Conny Plank on Prime.

I'm by nature a loner, I've got a fair few friends, but have spend most of my adult life making up excuses as to why i can't go out or meet up in the evening. Ironically now we're all in lockdown I can't really come up with any credible excuses, so i find myself hanging out with people on Zoom most weekends. I'm looking forward to when everyones able to meet up again..so I can get back to staying in...on my own!

Never used zoom. I wouldn't know what to do on it. Plus it reminds me too much of all those dreadful adverts!

Zoom has been under some scrutiny because they were passing on user data, some of it to Facebook.
They said they've stopped, but talk is cheap.
My nephew has been in corporate sales for Zoom for approx. five years.

Someones sends you an invite with a password & a time of the meeting. You download Zoom, enter the password and you're off. Suddenly everyone (up to 8 people I believe) appears in front of you (assuming they've signed in), and you can chat away until your hearts content (or in my case, pretend you're laptop battery is about to go flat after 15 minutes, and claim you're chargers not working) It can actually be quite good fun.

I'm drinking to get through working from home. If I was on furlough or whatever I'd be sober. I've been using takeaways more often over this past week as I'm FUCKING SICK of cooking for myself. But I walked to the local park today and watched a crow having a wash, which was a bit of joy.
I really don't know what I'm supposed to 'achieve' through all of this.
