They're new! And they're good! Both statements highly debatable. I lasted about a minute and a half with "My Head" before deciding it probably wasn't going to get better. I did kind of enjoy "Compromise" but I can't shake the feeling that the chorus music is stolen from (as opposed to influenced by) a late '70s or early '80s song that I haven't quite put my finger on.

Hmm, "My Head" doesn't seem too far away from the kind of ESG thing that Sink Ya Teeth were going for. Compromised is much more kinda Blondie meets The Raincoats, and like Charlie O says, it really reminds me of something I can't put my finger on. It doesn't sound overly polished though, which is good for a change.

Hate to be predictable here, but...as Parallel Lines is still in print, while I find both of these pleasant enough (though overlong, speaking of well-worn hatz cliches), there's nothing there convincing me that I somehow need them in my life.
That's a great big meh from me.

Not really feeling yay or nah, but I wouldn't mind hearing either on the radio in the course of the day, and there in, is the problem.

I actually listened to the newest album on my walk today. I can see why John likes them, but they don't have enough of an edge or aren't nearly as shambolic as I'd like. I like my art or punk funk to be a little more swerving on the edge of the road. Either that or you really have to swing like Tom Tom Club, Roxy Music or Was, not Was. It's not that and it's not the Au Pairs or Gang of Four - it's right in between. Too professional sounding, to my ears, but that may just be my age.
They need to loosen up and take more chances.

Yeah, I suppose so.
We're coming to the end of the chocolate box, folks. We have to try those hard toffee things - OR NOTHING

These are in the same vein as Sink ya teeth and some of projects from Rachel Aggs (Sacred Paws, Shopping, Trash Kit), though not as good..Modern tweaking of the post punk model..
