Shame the BBC had to settle for a David Coverdale quote.

The story's only just broken, there'll be more later but I see what you mean.
Never saw him in his prime but I saw him a couple of times, one at a music festival, once at Dingwalls. Both times he seemed unnaturally detached. But still good gigs.

Just saw this on Twitter. Discovering early Fleetwood Mac and Green was a revelation to me at the time.

I heard "Oh Well Parts 1 & 2" on the radio a million times in the summer of '69. that summer seemed to last at least a year and this song can still get me right in the wishbone whenever I hear it.
it took a long, long time before "Fleetwood Mac" meant something besides "Oh Well" to me. It might seem like a footnote but it's certainly a marvelous one.
I liked that Mick Fleetwood allowed PG to bask in the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" attention a bit. he deserved it. so did Bob Welch but I guess that's another story. at least this one has a somewhat happier ending. R.I.P.

I thought I had posted this here, but I guess I didn't... Green & Fleetwood Mac dominated the March 2020 edition of Greil Marcus' monthly "Real Life Rock Top 10" column. The relevant portion was posted on his site a few days ago: Not on any map: Peter Green’s blues country
