because i'm bored.
1. If a company branded car/van cut you off while driving or some other dickish move, would that discourage you from using their service solely based on that?
2. If could pick one of the sciences to be an expert in which would you pick? for example, Physics, biology, computer?
3. Are you somehow friends when someone who treated you like shit growing up, but you're ok with them now?
4. Do you know when you're being a dickhead in a situation or do your realize after the fact? If you cop on in the moment do you dig in or hold up your hand and admit it?
5. Do you worry about automation for your job?

1. If a company branded car/van cut you off while driving or some other dickish move, would that discourage you from using their service solely based on that?
That sounds like something I'd do, yes!
2. If could pick one of the sciences to be an expert in which would you pick? for example, Physics, biology, computer?
Physics, because of acoustics. I did study this a bit in high school and college, but I couldn't really grasp it at the time. (I also wasn't a very good student.) Maybe I'd get it now.
3. Are you somehow friends when someone who treated you like shit growing up, but you're ok with them now?
No examples. There were kids who were dicks in junior high school that became friends (or at least "friendly") in high school, so it's not inconceivable.
4. Do you know when you're being a dickhead in a situation or do your realize after the fact? If you cop on in the moment do you dig in or hold up your hand and admit it?
I've gone both ways, with both questions.
5. Do you worry about automation for your job?
No.

1. If a company branded car/van cut you off while driving or some other dickish move, would that discourage you from using their service solely based on that?
Maybe. Unless it was from my favourite brewery.
2. If could pick one of the sciences to be an expert in which would you pick? for example, Physics, biology, computer?
They all seem worthwhile, but it would be a toss-up between physics and biology, and then within either of those something so esoteric yet interesting that I could hold forth at dinner parties: "It's funny you should say that, because frogs DO actually feel remorse, Sharon..." etc.
3. Are you somehow friends when someone who treated you like shit growing up, but you're ok with them now?
There is no one like that in my life.
4. Do you know when you're being a dickhead in a situation or do your realize after the fact? If you cop on in the moment do you dig in or hold up your hand and admit it?
For the past year or so I've been trying really hard to not be an asshole to my co-workers who come to me with last-minute or unreasonable requests. Some still get under my skin - especially the one guy who always acts like I'm going to tear his head off whenever he comes to me with any sort of work-related issue, no matter how innocuous. I can't help but get my back up a bit - I mean, he's basically asking for it, right? To that end, I always try to admit (to myself, at least) when I'm being a dick, and change my tone/attitude as much as I can. I find I don't get too stressed about things if I'm keeping that Positive Mental Attitude.
5. Do you worry about automation for your job?
Not one bit.

No to 1,3 and 5.
2. A cosmologist. Imagine being out in the desert manning one of those huge telescopes searching for distant planets and stars. How cool would that be?
4. Usually at the time...unless I'm drunk ( an increasingly rare state for me these days).

1. I don't drive but I never used Dixons since they chucked us out of a shop as kids so probably.
2. Computer science as it seems to be the only way to get a decent job here.
3. No.
4. Depends if I think it's justified or not.
5. It's welcome to it.

1. If a company branded car/van cut you off while driving or some other dickish move, would that discourage you from using their service solely based on that?
No, I would call or otherwise contact someone at the company and report it. How I react would be based on how they respond.
2. If could pick one of the sciences to be an expert in which would you pick? for example, Physics, biology, computer?
At this point, probably epidemiology.
3. Are you somehow friends when someone who treated you like shit growing up, but you're ok with them now?
Nope. In fact, got a friend request from one of them on Facebook. Ignored it and hid them.
4. Do you know when you're being a dickhead in a situation or do your realize after the fact? If you cop on in the moment do you dig in or hold up your hand and admit it?
I avoid these situations by not being a dickhead. There are occasions where I've held on to fiercely-held opinions then changed my mind, but it's never instantaneous. And I don't feel like I have trouble admitting it, because it's usually a long process, and if anything I let people in on more of my process than they want to hear about.
5. Do you worry about automation for your job?
Not in the slightest.

1 I don't drive and never look at cars. However, if anyone forces me to look at an ad by getting around my filters, I always resolve never to buy the product
2 zoology 3 Been a long while since I was growing up, but no 4 I don't understand the question. Define 'dickhead'.
5 Nope. Of course I don't have a job now, but I never worried about it when I did

1. If a company branded car/van cut you off while driving or some other dickish move, would that discourage you from using their service solely based on that? Might depend on whether it was a local thing like Barry's Bastard Plumbers or something. I mean, if it's a Tesco van, it's less of a personal affront where my response to their bad driving could have an effect.
2. If could pick one of the sciences to be an expert in which would you pick? for example, Physics, biology, computer? Well, I guess I am meant to be an expert in computer science (not sure I am though), if that's really a science as such. More a branch of electronics/physics (for the physical aspect) and maths, if anything. But I'd really like to understand physics on a much more fundamental level. I completely failed my A-Level, walked out of the exam after 15 or so minutes. Now, I read quite a bit of pop-science physics (and biology for that matter), but my maths isn't good enough, and generally, I'm just not that intelligent or focused to ever be capable.
3. Are you somehow friends when someone who treated you like shit growing up, but you're ok with them now? No. Didn't really get treated that badly, but I also don't really know that many people I knew growing up, either.
4. Do you know when you're being a dickhead in a situation or do your realize after the fact? If you cop on in the moment do you dig in or hold up your hand and admit it? I've caught myself a couple of times at work when discussing/arguing with people I don't now that well. When I know I'm right, I can be a bit cocky and dismissive, but sometimes I catch myself and try and make a joke out of it. Sometimes, particularly if it's a written discussion over Slack or something, I might just stop and say - sorry, did I sound like a bit of a twat there?
5. Do you worry about automation for your job? No. I more worry that 1)I haven't kept up with technology at all 2)I could easily be replaced by someone cheaper in another country 3)I work for a huge multinational that just sees me as a number, has no idea what I do, and someone will decide to save money by getting rid of me on a fairly random ad hoc decision.

1. If a company branded car/van cut you off while driving or some other dickish move, would that discourage you from using their service solely based on that?
Probably not. Anyway I don't drive. And the service is unlikely to have anything to do with that particular driver.
2. If could pick one of the sciences to be an expert in which would you pick? for example, Physics, biology, computer?
I was very interested in chemistry when I was a kid, so that. I dig the periodic table, man. It's reeeaallly cool.
3. Are you somehow friends when someone who treated you like shit growing up, but you're ok with them now?
Not exactly, but I see a couple of school bullies around town who are now like 'alright John?'. One of them is now a councillor, posting stuff on Facebook about how he's trying to save our coastline and stop foreign investment fucking up local employment. Amazing.
4. Do you know when you're being a dickhead in a situation or do your realize after the fact? If you cop on in the moment do you dig in or hold up your hand and admit it?
I'm not at all good about realising by dickishness at the time, but quite often I'll think about it later and apologise.
5. Do you worry about automation for your job?
'automation' makes me think of robots on factory floors - that was never going to be a concern for teachers. The change that's happening in education, as you know, is that a lot of learning is now done online. That doesn't mean teachers have been replaced, just that they have to learn new skills. I don't worry about this exactly, but I don't enjoy online teaching much at all, I miss classroom teaching, and I'm looking forward to cautiously returning to it some time later in the year.

I reckon most child bullies (and older bullies, for that matter) act out of some very basic insecurity. There's no reason a playground bully can't grow up to be a decent sort, not that they all do.

1. If a company branded car/van cut you off while driving or some other dickish move, would that discourage you from using their service solely based on that?
I'd plot their destruction for about 3 to 5 minutes or until I cut somebody off myself - whichever comes first.
2. If could pick one of the sciences to be an expert in which would you pick? for example, Physics, biology, computer?
I'm a pretty social guy so I'd pick the Social Sciences
3. Are you somehow friends when someone who treated you like shit growing up, but you're ok with them now?
yeah, we've grown apart now but I've got about three of those that if I ran into them we'd be happy to see each other. A seemingly thick skin can wear people down after a while.
4. Do you know when you're being a dickhead in a situation or do your realize after the fact? If you cop on in the moment do you dig in or hold up your hand and admit it?
usually it's pretty obvious in real time. I'm glad because I find it easier to apologize when the offense is still hanging in the air. My problem was that, having achieved a Yellow Belt in Withering Sarcasm, I would be too focused on my craft to notice any damage I'd done. hopefully those days are behind me.
5. Do you worry about automation for your job?
What, me worry?
