I actually met Flipper. Yeah yeah it was obviously just some dolphin, but I was 3 1/2 so it must have been about '68, we went to Florida and to this day I have a vivid recollection of being a bit scared but going up to the edge of the pool and "shaking" this dolphin's fin - the dolphin being touted by the studio as Flipper. I have an even clearer picture of the photo, which still exists somewhere ...

By far, however, was the Sgt. Bilko show with Phil Silvers. I met him when I was young with my aunt in New York City and shouted out, "It's Sgt. Bilko." He was a very nice man and think he appreciated how a 9 year-old appreciated his show from long ago. He took a photo with me, my brother, and cousin and I had it for many years. Yep, Bilko for me too, saw them on their first runs in the UK, big event TV in the 1950s. As was I Love Lucy. Great story about Silvers, too.

A few years ago, probably about eight now, we took a family vacation to Orlando and one of the days involved swimming with dolphins at a water park. You'd ride along in a fairly big circle, holding on to their dorsal fin. My son, who was eight or nine, was scared to do it, but it was great. One of the best things I've ever done.

I think this is my favorite episode.

Greatest theme song ever- that or Sanford and Son.
As far as lost goes Ralph Bakshi’s Mighty Heroes. Nobody remembers it. I’m starting to think I imagined it.

The other day I was walking through my old offices to talk to an old colleague about something and I heard the theme tune to this playing in the background:
I don't remember a thing about the show itself except for this theme song and the school playground rumours that the lyrics said "funk and justice“ rather than “fuckin' justice” which I'm still not convinced by.

Diver Dan! that's among the first wave of "electronic babysitter shows" I remember. Others were "Crusader Rabbit" & "Clutch Cargo" but...
I remember this one most vividly. I'm pretty sure I was watching these before I could TALK.

You watched the Beachcombers??! I thought that was strictly a Canadian thing! Yeah, it was shown for several years on Aussie TV in the late '70s. It made quite an impression on this suburban Melbourne kid!
