The Xmas holidays bring out the best and worst of us sometimes. File this under "Best." I was reading a review on a new documentary coming out about how the US postal service has handled letters to Santa and adopts the letters from kids and gives them the presents they asked for. They've been doing this in one form or another since 1907.
Merry Christmas.

Reminds me of this - not surprising, as I just saw it yesterday:

I watched the movie last night. It's not out to change the world, but it shows a great program, some great people who volunteer for it and some really endearing children who write Santa and get gifts.
One story for me stood out, although there are some great kids profiled. A teenager in E. Harlem writes Santa that he wants to give his family a ride to Manhattan in a limo. The family doesn't have a car and the look of wonder and enjoyment he gives off as he rides with his family in the limo and they walk around Times Square is precious.
The movie also shows how kindness really is rewarded and isn't that hard to do.
