A... I like Lana Del Rey in small doses, but not stretched out ad libitum like this.... YAWWWWN
B... derivative claptrap notwithstanding, I think Steven Wilson is able to create moments of real beauty, something he achieves here. The prog-hating majority here is gonna hate, I love it.

I think we're off to a great start. In all honesty, if not for the cup I'd have taken a Pasadena on both. Both artists are praised to the skies by people in my orbit and I'm frankly good and sick of hearing about either.
LDR isn't merely admired by many youngsters I hobnob with - she is idolized. they are at the right age for idolizing so, while I cut them some slack I make no effort to keep up with her.
it's an okay track. I like that it goes on a bit and is overproduced a bit. I mean, she could just sell album covers at this point. in fact I'll go A
SW is similarly idolized but by older people who I think should know better. just kidding - I respect some people who like him a lot - I just don't get it. you'd think his track is more my sort of thing and I suppose it is. For all his influences I just don't think he has a lot of personality himself. People's eyes bulge out when they tell me how fucking brilliant he is and maybe he is. Fucking brilliant and a dollar won't buy me a cup of coffee. it feels like those Flower Kings type bands who try to sound like bands that they aren't. nice work if you can get it.

Clearly A for me, even if it could have been four minutes shorter.

Lana
Love it. At her best she truly shines. The sound of confused, prozac’d young-ish America. Dig the drift.
Steven “Steve” Wilson
The unacceptable face of Nu-Prog. Well-mannered and ruined from the off by the baroque-y Genesis-y guitar flourish at the beginning. It’s not terrible, more unfathomable.

Time limits might help these contests. Who's got 18 minutes for a single match? I'll go Lana because I prefer her voice.

A is the kind of aural *rozac we’ve come to expect from Lana del Rey (except when she’s great, which she is, sometimes). But I enjoy drowsy, sunny music and could easily picture myself floating off into a carefree otherwhere with this track in my earphones. It’s the only possible explanation for all nine minutes of it.
B s not my cup of tea to begin with and the guitar is very dark side of the seventies. So it’s A

Reading the comments, and seeing as how LDR has won it in a landslide, I'm going to save 20 minutes of what remains of my life by not listening to either of them.
