R&B coming from its two different angles. Gritty and ethereal. Ike and Tina don't get the attention they deserve, but neither does Solange in my opinion. While the Ike and Tina song is good, it seems kind of average fare. The Solange song will lose with this crowd, but I loved it.

by some distance. It's joyous, you get a sense of abandon like they've all been thrown in the studio and given 20 minutes to get their shit together. And Tina's vocal (pre 80s at least) really lights my lamps.
I like the Solange track quite a bit, actually - although it looks like they spent $100000000000 on video locations. The music is tasteful in a way Ike and Tina's isn't. And that's the good and the bad of it

B is dog shit. the sort of thing i actively try to avoid hearing. who the hell picked it?
A is a solid selection and is a better spector choice than the song in m2.

I wish I'd thought of that Nev. The best I could manage was something from 1993.

Ike Turner produced it with his band and the Ikettes rather than the Wrecking Crew. Not that I disagree with what you think of it.

Ooh, B is gonna get killed here.
Just for the record, I think it's pretty good. She's got a really good voice, and the production is "modern" without being too self-conscious about it (it doesn't drown it in auto-tune, for starters).
That said, A is just a lot more exciting, and it's new to me, so I can't not vote for it.

Yeah, B is not that bad, but it's going to get smashed here. I pity the picker but not enough to vote against that wonderful real R&B such as

Who the hell picked B? Well played sir; a nice choice plus you annoyed skopey. Two for the price of one.
A is fab, but B is the kind of modern R&B i dont mind hearing, laidback yet still grooving, so i am rewarding it with my vote.

Not that it's proof either way, but the credits listed under the video say it was produced by Spector, and it seems to be a somewhat official Ike & Tina Turner YouTube channel. Anyway, it handily beats B's rather boring R & B. A
