Is the video for A supposed to be a Rorschach test? Because I definitely saw some stuff. B is more fun.

A is good electronica and I've only heard the Jay Z version of B. I like this version better, but then I'm not huge Jay Z fan. Overrated.

Don't feel like writing negatively at the moment.

The first track started badly and managed to get worse. It's still better than most things I've heard so far in this ridiculous 'cup'
That Panjabi MC number was fucking HUGE a few years ago - it's one of the most famous songs yet chosen, but probably only in the UK. I always liked it quite a bit. An easy win here

A would've been so much better without the wispy voice. As minimalist synth stuff it was pretty cool (albeit, here we go again, way too damned long) but the voice just kept insisting on taking it in a direction it didn't seem to want to go.
B is pretty slight, but thankfully doesn't overdo it with the beats, and keeps enough traditional elements that it doesn't come off completely cheesy. I almost wish it had concentrated a bit more on the novelty aspect, but as is it's easily the more pleasant of the two to listen to.

Great match, very enjoyable leftfield picks for mine. B is much more immediate and catchy and will probably win for that; fair play to it, it's hookier than an angler's tackle box. But A has some lovely progression in its structure, the kinda thing i could really trance out to if i stiil did that. It gets my vote here.

A's got that presumably pre-programmed wobbly synth sound that always reminds me of the death music from Parallax on the C64. Good to hear some electronic music, but again it's a bit on the polite, repetitive side. Having said that, I quite like her voice, and the beat has ramped up a notch, in an Underworld kinda way. Still polite, but with more of a head of steam behind it. Might actually be more interesting when she stops singing at the end, at that percussive rubber-bashing-on-metal synth sound joins the fray.
B's a bit of a novelty pick, I'd have loved a bit of less cheesy/mass-market bhangra or something to be thrown into the cup, but this is a bit of a tossed together ad exec's idea of modern eastern influenced music. Not that I'm an expert, but there has to be better out there, doesn't there, even if it's so obviously westernised in style and samples.

A is a moody slice of late night minimalist techno which kept me engaged throughout. Balances its ethereal and visceral elements in a very complimentary way. Definitely one of the picks of the round for me. I don't mind B, it's good natured enough not to be dislikable, but I agree with DF on it and it's not something I can care about too much.
Easily A

I did wonder if A might be related to Robert Owens, especially as it has some of his sound in there, but no, apparently she's Welsh!

I think B edges it but I like both. The first is the sort of thing I like to listen to while cleaning up around the house. I like how the second is both “traditional” and “contemporary” at the same time. This is the sort of stuff that stands out for me when scanning Radio Garden. I doubt it will last the test of time like music that makes me clean like a motherfucker but it sounds good right now.

B is pretty well known over here. I like it even if it does remind me of Knightrider.
A got better as it went on but it's fairly slight to my ears and a bit too balearic for my tastes.

Neither are my thing, or interest me at all. But I found B music especially disgusting. So I decided to try A music while watching B video to see if it worked and it did.
Since it's music we are discussing
