Was never a particular fan of Hawkwind at the time, but they gave great attitude, and their stuff has worn well. I see them as punk precursors, only with different drugs. Never listened to Calvert's album before, but thought this was pretty decent, really propulsive.
Never heard of these guys - hardly surprising, as they never had an official release in the UK. This was the last track on their only album, and probably made more sense in that context. I'm not averse to this sort of trippy/druggy soundscaping, even when I'm completely sober , but right now I'm liking A more.
Most everything I’ve heard by Hawkwind (and Hawkwind-adjacent) has disappointed me. Nearly good but with that little extra that would propel it missing. Poor dynamics (record two and three BOC would kill it) and a horrible pianner plinking along. Very pub rock goes new wave and that’s no way to be.
