Christ. A new board was started so we could talk about The Beatles and Roxy Music?

I'd limit it to the cover versions

You Can't Do That Kansas City/Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey Rock and Roll Music Bad Boy Slow Down Matchbox
Long Tall Sally Boys Dizzy Miss Lizzy Money (That's What I Want) I Wanna Be Your Man Twist and Shout
All the later songs can be discarded. They don't really fit. On the original album, the jump from "I'm Down " to "Revolution is a bit like the cut from the spinning bone to the spaceship in 2001.
I chose the ones that were either sweaty covers, or felt like them. "You Can't Do That" has always been powerful, and could always have been an album opener. And then just keeping up the rocking...

There's a half-decent 7inch EP lurking in there somewhere

Taxman was a really odd choice for the album.

Boy, I sure loved this damn thing when I was a kid (got it for Xmas '76 - asked Santa for it at the Macy's), the silver cover, the many (then) new to me songs. It had that damn stupid late 60s/early 70s Sides A/D, Sides B/C pairing (presumably for automatic players, another abomination...I can't tell you how confusing this made the narrative of Jesus Christ Superstar)
But...yeah, it's a mess. We own it, and I've probably never bothered putting it on in the past 40 years.
I loved Side 4 when I was a kid cause I suppose the later songs appealed to me (certainly Bulldog and Skelter). I'd actually argue that "One After 909" fully qualified for inclusion. Much as I like, for example, 'Slow Down' or 'Bad Boy' on their own merits, the very notion of three Larry Williams covers on one album creates a bland sameness out of what is supposed to be their most raw and high energy shit (Everybody's Trying to Be My Baby and Matchbox - whatever their objective merits - also strike me as pure bottom drawer filler, despite their qualifications).
So. My stab at this sort of thing?
Long Tall Sally Money (That's What I Want) Rock and Roll Music Boys Leave My Kitten Alone Roll Over Beethoven I Saw Her Standing There Slow Down
I'm Down And Your Bird Can Sing Revolution (single version) One After 909 Back in the USSR Get Back (single version) Twist and Shout

I missed this thread the first time around. Will come back with my proposal later, but let me say that, whatever you want to do with this, there is just one reasonable option as album opener, I Saw Her Standing There.
