Was it Marjorie Taylor Green who lit into Ilhan Omar for using the Koran to be sworn in on as a representative? I remember someone telling whomever it was that it didn't need to be a Bible to be sworn in on. What does it matter which God someone recites in the Pledge of Allegiance if they're recognizing faith? But I have a problem with inserting the religious into anything nationalistic or patriotic like this.

that's just the sort of "News" coverage that has galvanized Islamophobia in America.

shakes head
irresponsible
so is he willing to be executed for spreading lies, and trying to foment instability?
I don't understand this mindset, either it is a cynical power/money play (which means he did get vaccinated) or it is some silly actual wrongheaded belief (which means he didn't get vaccinated and that will probably take care of him as the current rise in Covid deaths is 100% amongst the unvaccinated).

OAN has correspondents in the press pool. each and every day they assert their right to ask questions of a man they claim is a traitor. (well, his press secretary anyway) not a single Republican in either house of congress will say a word against this crap.
IMO "round 'em up & shoot 'em" is about as "cancel culture" as it gets.

I'll rest easy at night knowing that everybody who got cancelled will always have somebody to talk to. why, it's the next best thing to never having been cancelled at all except you get to complain and who doesn't enjoy that?

He's just confused and irritated. I can't imagine there being too many 'biting one liners'

I'll watch it but I'm not holding high hopes. I read a preview somewhere where he rather glibly defined political correctness as "be nice to everyone". That's a pretty naive understanding of it. Whatever you feel about it, if you're going to critique it you do need to acknowledge that its intention is to challenge, or eliminate, cultural and social expressions that help create inequality and prejudice. It does have a specific purpose.

If it's the same thing that I read, then what he said was that the starting point for political correctness was 'be nice to everyone' - that's how he saw it. And he thought that was an admirable objective. But it's been adapted over the years, misrepresented, etc. etc. - you know how it goes.

I mean, it's the American Dream condensed into a sentence, isn't it? in some ways, anyway
